Job Readiness & Life Skills
Across all programs and roles, Kids at Their Best intentionally builds job readiness and life skills that prepare youth for long term success.
Through a combination of structured workshops and on the job learning, youth develop resumes, practice professional communication, learn workplace expectations, and build social and professional networks. All employees participate in a one-week training prior to starting work, which covers daily program operations, policies and procedures, safety expectations, how to respond when challenges arise, food safety practices, and CPR and first aid training to ensure youth are fully prepared and supported.
Real-World Readiness
Youth also take part in job tours and career exploration opportunities and receive support securing internships and other work experiences, helping connect their skills to future careers.
Kids at Their Best partners with schools, employers, and community organizations to strengthen these opportunities and help youth connect their experiences to future education and career pathways.
